See title and poll. I've read reviews, and they say it was excellent. I've read the Burnout 3 forum, and most people say it is insanely difficult and frustrating. I'm someone who has played every Burnout game to completion except for the mobile title and the PS2 exclusive title, plus another racing game that was called "insanely hard", Midnight Club LA, and I've found them all easy and fun but challenging at times (Burnout Revenge Burning/Preview Laps especially!). After that, if I should buy Burnout 3, should I download it as an Xbox Original, receiving better load times from running from the HDD (I have a 120GB Elite HDD), or buy it on disk, with slower loading times but a physical possession of yet another classic Burnout game? Thanks to anyone who helps me.

It is certainly worth your time to play and you should buy it  I'm not sure about downloading it or instead buying the game on disk though.

I'd say get the disk version, there's just something about lining up a series of a game you have that's far more rewarding when it's with physical copies.

Burnout 3 is definitely worth checking out. If you felt Burnout Revenge was too angsty and Burnout 2 to be too Arcadey, Burnout 3 is the perfect middle ground. It introduced Takedowns, it has Point to Point races, and was the first Burnout to go so fast you'd swear your eyeballs are gonna get ripped out. It's the game with the most amount of cars and a great variety in the tracks.

Also, you say you have the Portable one? If it's Legends, then Burnout 3 is 90% the same game, but that's ok, because what'll be sweet for you is to see the tracks you know from the PSP version blown up and with much better graphics.

OK. I thought so, also. OK. I thought so, also... I said I don't have the portable and PS2-exclusive versions :db: .

Thanks to both of you for your opinions!

Yes, It has many good features to it, and has very good car designs.

If you want to drive in Fire engine then get it. Now.

Buy it, Burnout 3 is incredible. I still come back to it, it's a lot of fun, and the crashes in Burnout 3 are 10x as epic as in Paradise. Personally, I would get it on disc, if only because you can save a few bucks, since I think its $15 on Xbox Live, but idk, I don't have a 360. I got B3 for $10 on disc, and on the Xbox, the load times really aren't too bad anyway. If load times is the only thing preventing you from getting on disc, get it on disc, the load times are pretty quick. Road Rage is also more fun in B3 than in Paradise, and there is much more variety when it comes to scenery.

Try to find the disk cheap somewhere. It's probably something like 2.50 - 5 at somewhere like CEX (I got it for 1 of a friend). Beats the 10 (1200MS Points) Xbox Original price.

Thanks, everyone, for your advice! I will buy Burnout 3 on disk, if possible, otherwise as a download, after I get fully done with the Island and 500/500 challenges.

I'm glad you got such good advice while I wasn't around.

I'll echo the disc choice though - the only performance change of the download is a negative one due to the emulator not being 100% perfect. There are no load time changes because the game isn't a 360 game.

The game is tough until you get used to the AI rubberbanding and it has somethign missing from later games - a free open choice of doing whatever event on whatever track with whatever car you've unlocked. To have fun, practice and get the elusive takedown targets. The game had 'achievements' before they existed on the 360 in the form of signature takedowns, postcards and trophies.

You should enjoy it, it's only sad that the best aspect of it - the online racing and road rage is very quiet now with not enough people on to just pop on and find a room any time.

And before that Spyro 2 had them in the form of Skill Points. :D
