+It was very difficult to chain burnouts in this game. I remember one long right turn/exit ramp was the only place I could get a x2.
+Crash replays!

-Crash detection was very poor. But I admit it was entertaining to watch the slo-mo replays of your car missing the other car by about a foot yet still crashing.
-The music went silent when you got a burnout... 600mph? :P
-Music was creepy.

Anything to add?? I kind of wish I still owned it.

music was creepy?

+This was the Best Burnout soundtrack i ever heard!
It got me hyped up and if u crashed to much, u get a sudden punch to the face when the music changes to a more suspenseful and tense music.

+Crash detection was ok

+Music was silent when boosting added to the effect

+sense of speed was ace

+LOADS OF TRAFFIC!! Racing around the interstate was fun, especially on the reversed track. Added even more suspense

+Classic Arcade Racer Atmosphere

+Tracks were awesome, especially the ones that connected tracks to others (euro marathon and Us Marathon)

+replay

the Bad:

- too few cars
- checkpoints are frustrating
- The countdown timer caused alot of frustration
- AI racecars are predictable and sometimes cheat, practically giving u the middle finger through the mirrors everytime one zooms past u as u just crashed into another AI racer that plummeted into a bus a few secs ago

I think you might be confusing this with Burnout 2: Point of Impact.

In Burnout the original game there were no Boost Chains.

Burnout had really tough checkpoints to meet. I love the music and the night time look on Grid Lock (hope I'm not getting my Burnout's mixed up!)

Graphically it still looks really good to me! :D

Here's the things what I like/hate in Burnout 1:

+ Tracks are awesome in Burnout 1, I also like the marathon tracks.
+ There are no glitches in Burnout 1, expect one glitch in Interstate forwards on the last lap in the tunnels, the white van will appear in the wrong side of the road.

- Drifting is bad in Burnout 1, I have lost several races because drift is so bad.
- Some tracks has way too much traffic, that's also one reason why I lose races.
- You can't do boost start in Burnout 1, like in for example, Burnout 2.
